Helicopter crash kills two people

A helicopter from a private Monegasque company, Monacair crashed on Friday November 25 between Villefranche and Eze. The crash killed two people.

The two victims are the French pilot of the helicopter from the Monegasque private company Monacair, aged around 30, and a passenger, a businessman “of Russian nationality with a Maltese passport”, specified the prefecture.

A second scheduled passenger had canceled “at the last minute”, Monacair said.

The aircraft that belongs to Monacair provided the link between Switzerland and the Côte d’Azur. The pilot “had done all his training in the area and knew it very well” and the aircraft was “of the latest generation” stated Monacair.
