As part of a policy to continuously improve the services offered to users of industrial property rights, the Business Development Agency is now making available to individuals and legal entities who are domiciled or located in Monaco a tool enabling them to submit applications to register or renew protection for a national trademark electronically.
The tool was developed thanks to a partnership, initiated in 2017, with the European Union Intellectual Property Office. Hosted on the Intellectual Property Division’s website, on the Trademark E-services tab, this procedure offers considerable advantages over physically submitting applications:
– Available 24/7
– Online assistance to guide applicants through each step
– Full visibility of the costs of protection and automatic calculation of taxes
– Protected area with secure online payment
– Traceability: an email is sent to acknowledge receipt, noting the date, national number and all elements making up the submission.
For those who are not domiciled or located within Monaco, it is still possible to access the tool, but only via the services of a Monegasque intellectual property attorney, a list of whom can be found here.
