TVMonaco will go live on September 1

France Télévisions alumna Nathalie Biancolli and TV5 Monde executive Salim Zeghdar are to head Monaco’s first public TV channel.

TVMonaco will go live on September 1 with funding from the principality’s government plus shareholder the French-language network TV5Monde.

TVMONACO will set itself apart with a new television model and will appeal to all generations,” the statement said.

Zeghdar has been appointed as CEO, having worked previously as director of the board of directors at TV5Monde, as well as CEO of supercar salon Top Marques.

Former France Télévisions director of acquisitions and international fiction Biancolli will serve as deputy CEO.

The content strategy of the new channel will be revealed at a press conference at MipTV in Cannes, with staff due to move to new headquarters in Monaco’s Fontvieille district in July.

TVMonaco was originally set to launch in late 2022 but the rollout was delayed by almost a year. The channel will become part of the TV5Monde network, with its content set to be broadcast in around 200 countries.
