Trade Observatory meeting
A plenary session of the Trade Observatory was held on Monday, 22 May 2023, chaired by H.E. Mr Pierre Dartout, Minister of State, in the presence of Ministers Ms Céline Caron-Dagioni and Mr Jean Castellini.
The members of the Observatory* in attendance discussed the encouraging tourism forecasts for the coming months and the challenges and opportunities facing the Principality’s trade and catering sector. During this session, there was an update on the various visits to commercial districts carried out by the Business Development Agency, which identified several areas of improvement needed to make these districts more appealing, particularly in quieter periods.
H.E. the Minister of State noted that the Observatory is a forum for exchange between the Government and the various economic operators within the sector and invited the retailers present to have their say. The latter analysed their situation, which has been predominantly positive since the beginning of the year. They made some interesting suggestions for trade in the Principality, which are to be examined by the government departments.
