Footage of the crash has gone viral with a powerboat seen smashing into two other vessels before mounting a docking jetty at the iconic harbour.

The footage has spread across cyberspace on the same day local hero Charles Leclerc took pole position for Sunday night’s race with a classy drive in his Ferrari.

The footage shows two spectators at the event were lucky to escape without injury as the boat came in like a wrecking ball between a little dingy and a superyacht full of partygoers.

According to rumours, the mega-yacht is the location where American driver Logan Sargeant and his family are living for the week.
