Innovation centre stage at the 15th annual Monaco Private Label Summit
The 15th annual Monaco Private Label (MPL) Summit was held on 15, 16 and 17 September in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, H.E. Mr Didier Guillaume, Minister of State of the Principality of Monaco, Frédéric Genta, Country Chief Officer for Attractiveness and the Digital Transition, and Chloé Leclercq-Boscagli, Director of MPL, accompanied by over 150 members from around the globe, including economic leaders, investors, philanthropists and friends of the Principality.
Since its creation 15 years ago, MPL has played a key role in attracting new residents to Monaco. With nearly 2,000 members in 70 countries, this influential network is a cornerstone of the attractiveness strategy of the Prince’s Government. Led by Chloé Leclercq-Boscagli, appointed Director last January, MPL has made it a priority to consolidate its network, strengthen the sense of belonging among its members and promote the Principality’s international profile.
Over three days, participants were able to meet with notable figures such as the famous American artist Jeff Koons and two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso while exploring various topics together with international experts. Topics covered included:
- Developing the blue economy and investment opportunities: sustainable innovation to protect the oceans and generate new revenue streams.
- Artificial intelligence: Five experts (Fleur Pellerin, Antoine Blondeau, Alexandre Cadain, Ahmed Talhaoui and Frédéric Genta) shared their vision of future development, investment risks and opportunities, as well as regulatory approaches to oversee this fast-growing field.
- Longevity medicine: A panel of scientists, researchers and entrepreneurs (John Boghossian, Charles-Edouard Bouée, Bernardo Delarue Bizzini, André Leosekrug-Pietri and Dr Vincent Picco) presented the latest advances in age management medicine. They explored new research on ageing and its implications for quality of life, which create vast investment opportunities in the biotechnology sector.
- High-performance sport excellence: Fernando Alonso shared his thoughts on the links between sports and entrepreneurship during an exclusive breakfast with MPL partners. He highlighted the multiple opportunities that Monaco offers athletes and entrepreneurs thanks to its rich network of local experts.
- The arts and culture: Jeff Koons, the record holder for the highest price paid for a living artist’s work, shared insight on his creative approach and exploration of the intersection between art and emerging technologies.
The ambition of the Annual Summit was also reflected in “Friends of MPL”, a group of fifteen partners from Monaco’s financial sector (private banking, wealth management and insurance) and legal and fiscal sectors. This group embodies the excellence and expertise that Monaco promotes on a global scale and plays a critical role in the process of settling future high-level residents.
The Summit reconfirmed the importance of MPL as a spearhead of Monaco’s attractiveness policy by contributing to the Principality’s economic development and international reputation for over 15 years.
Frédéric Genta: “Monaco Private Label is an important driver of Monaco’s strategy to attract residents and investors to Monaco and assist them in creating economic value in the Principality. With the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II and H.E. Mr Didier Guillaume, this event demonstrates the level of excellence and commitment of this country”.
Chloé Leclercq-Boscagli: “My teams and I are proud to welcome to Monaco the 150 carefully selected members of Monaco Private Label, chosen during missions abroad and in Monaco. Each meeting is a chance to strengthen this precious sense of community and come together in our dedication to the Principality”.
