A young woman died on the terrible accident at Monaco station

A woman in her thirties died this Monday morning after being hit by a train at Monaco station.

The tragedy took place on Monday, September 30th in the morning at around 8:45 am at Monaco train station. A woman in her thirties was hit by a train heading towards Nice, for a reason that the investigation will now have to determine.

The unfortunate woman died instantly despite the rapid intervention of around fifteen Monegasque firefighters.

The station was cordoned off and as a consequence of this terrible accident: SNCF traffic was completely interrupted on the Nice-Ventimiglia line, causing a real mess for all workers travelling to the Principality.

Monaco train station was also cordoned off while investigators made their usual observations and the funeral directors removed the body of the unfortunate woman.

The scene unfortunately played out during rush hour at Monaco station, unfolding in front of hundreds of passengers. Therefore, the SNCF has decided to set up a psychological unit at Monaco station. A support unit has also been launched “so as not to go through this ordeal alone,” at 0800.120.821.
