Trade mission to Warsaw: multiple connections to boost business exchanges
From 29 September to 2 October, the Monaco Economic Board organised a trade mission to Warsaw at the head of a delegation of 18 Monegasque business leaders. Organised in collaboration with the Monegasque Embassy in Poland, this event gave the Principality’s entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet more people and discover a Polish ecosystem that is highly conducive to business.
It all began at the Polish Chamber of Commerce, where the MEB delegation met around thirty Polish companies interested in the Principality. After a presentation on the economic situation in the two countries, discussions proved particularly promising and the meeting ended with the signing of an agreement between the chambers of commerce by Guillaume Rose, CEO of the MEB and Michał Krawczyk, Vice-President of the Polish entity, in the presence of Monaco’s Ambassador to Poland, Germany and Austria, H.E. Mr Lorenzo Ravano.
This step marks the start of a period of closer collaboration between the two countries, illustrated by a networking session that provided an opportunity to gauge the tremendous economic dynamism of Poland, a country that has just enjoyed thirty years of uninterrupted growth (except for 2020, the Covid year) and whose GDP per capita is now close to that of Spain.
The afternoon saw a real lesson in marketing for MEB members, with the success story of Wisniewski liqueur, a family business that has become a benchmark throughout Poland thanks to a single product that has become a fashion phenomenon.
On the second day, the delegation returned to the Polish Chamber of Commerce to listen to Andrzej Szumowski, Director of External Relations, and two young entrepreneurs from Warsaw, talk about the many advantages of the Polish business ecosystem.
This brilliant presentation led to a lengthy and highly enriching debate on Poland’s current situation and its economic and geopolitical strategy, with war on its borders.
At the invitation of the Consul of Monaco in Poland, Mr Tomasz Wardinski, the mission’s real “sherpa”, and accompanied by the Consul of Poland in Monaco, Mr Alessandro Giuliani, who was also present throughout the trip, the afternoon was devoted to the Polish branch of the association of wealthy entrepreneurs Corporate Connections, whose concept is situated in the Principality halfway between the Monaco Private Label and the MEB.
In addition to presentations and discussions with the delegation, this session provided an opportunity to establish new links with a view to welcoming this prestigious club to the Principality for a conference, or even encouraging its members to move to Monaco.
The mission ended in the evening with a networking cocktail hosted by the Embassy of Monaco in Poland, an opportunity to deepen the relationships forged with the Polish contacts met during these two intense days.
