Offering more than 700 events a year, the Principality of Monaco has always maintained a unique relationship with the artistic universe, mixing a great diversity of cultures and inspirations and welcoming a multitude of young creators and contemporary artists.

Living in Monaco magazine sponsored a group exhibition organised by Espace 22, featuring three amazing women artists; the fine art photographer Maja Kerin Cosignani, artist Maria Mikileva and painter Liudmila Sun.

Maria Mikileva is an artist based in France whose paintings have been exhibited nationally as well as in Monaco. Through the imagery and symbolism of the butterfly, Maria conveys the importance of appreciating the moving moment as well as love and happiness. Maria’s vivid, romantic, and contemporary works are created with oils and acrylics on canvas.

The main subject of my art is butterflies, which are the symbols of life and transformation. The joy, the energy, and the colour are present in each of my artworks with the aim of giving back the exact definition of love and happiness,” – explains her artwork, Maria.

Culture and art are essential, and we need to safeguard them for future generations as well. Our respect goes out to the team at Espace 22, who are working exactly with these intentions in their hearts and minds.

“Our philosophy at Living in Monaco magazine is that a country cannot afford to be materially rich and spiritually poor, as the two are connected and dependent on each other,” – says Zsolt Szemerszky, the founder of Living in Monaco magazine.

Espace 22 is situated in the very dynamic boulevard d’Italie. It offers a great platform for any young contemporary artist to compete for a limited time for a temporary exhibition.
