YES WOMEN MONACO: A New Movement Celebrating Female Solidarity and Impact

In Monaco, a principality known for its philanthropy and global humanitarian commitments, a new initiative is blossoming to honour the power of women: Yes Women Monaco. More than a project, it is a movement — one rooted in sisterhood, shared strength, and a belief that change blossoms when women support one another.

At its core, Yes Women Monaco embraces a simple truth: true sorority isn’t confined to exclusive circles — it is found in the everyday gestures between women. A friend offering support, a mother helping another, colleagues lifting each other up, or women uniting around a cause. Often, it is women who lead meaningful charitable initiatives, yet too many of these efforts remain in the shadows. Yes Women Monaco aims to shine a light on them — amplifying their voices, their missions, and their impact.

A Three-Pillar Initiative

The movement is built upon three key pillars:

  • A prestigious gala evening, where two inspiring female founders — one from Monaco and one from abroad — will be honoured for their commitment to a humanitarian cause.
  • A year-long communication campaign, including press and social media support to spotlight their work, their journey, and their message.
  • An innovative fundraising effort inspired by the idea one woman, one euro: a symbolic sum multiplied infinitely through solidarity and viral support, creating a global chain of empathy and empowerment.

The success of Yes Women Monaco rests on this shared willingness to lift others and spread a message of positive action.

2025 Theme: Women Standing Against HIV/AIDS

Each year, the movement will champion a different cause.

For its inaugural edition, the chosen theme is the fight against HIV/AIDS, a disease that disproportionately affects women and girls globally in 2025.

Two remarkable women will be celebrated:

  • H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie of Monaco, founder and President of Fight Aids Monaco, who for more than twenty years has supported individuals living with HIV and championed prevention, compassion, and dignity.
  • Christien Roos, founder of Penduka in Namibia, an organisation empowering vulnerable women through entrepreneurship, skills development, and economic independence.

These women represent strength, courage, and the determination to uplift those most vulnerable — giving them not only support, but a voice and a future.

Founders With Purpose

The initiative was born from the meeting of two women driven by conviction and heart:

  • Nicole Dionne, wife of Dr. Gervais Dionne — co-discoverer of the HIV triple-therapy breakthrough — who wished to highlight the women behind impactful humanitarian projects.
  • Sophie Girone, founder of the public relations agency Le Boudoir d’Highlights in Monaco, who chose to offer her expertise to amplify these causes and honor the women leading them.

Together, they imagined a new model where recognition, communication, and collective generosity empower those who give so much of themselves.

A Night of Hope — and a Year of Action

The first Yes Women Monaco gala will take place on December 1, 2025, at La Môme Monte-Carlo, marking World AIDS Day. On this special evening, the initiative will be launched alongside the campaign #YesWomenMonaco and the fundraising chain “1 woman: 1 euro”.

This event will mark the beginning of a year dedicated to celebrating compassionate leadership and building a community driven by generosity, resilience, and unity.

The Spirit of “YES”

“YES” is more than a word — it signifies conviction, perseverance, and hope.

It represents the countless victories achieved in the fight against disease, stigma, inequality, and hardship. It honours those who dare to rise, to support, to speak, and to act.

And it brings together women and men, united, not opposing — building bridges, not barriers — in the pursuit of a fairer world.

Yes Women Monaco is not just an event.

It is a movement.
A voice.
A promise of collective power.

Together, we say YES — to solidarity, to dignity, to hope, and to every woman whose courage lights the way.
