Monaco’s renowned professional dancer Ginevra De Masi is elevating the Principality’s entertainment scene with the launch of EMOTIONS, a dance company offering spectacular, high-level performances across Monaco and the South of France.
A professional dancer and ballerina, Ginevra brings joy to countless residents and visitors through her vibrant and emotionally charged performances. Her energy is infectious, whether she is performing at a sporting event, a ballet production, a gala dinner, or an opera on the theatre stage, her presence lights up the room and captivates every audience.
Born in Naples, Italy’s third-largest city, Ginevra discovered her passion for dance at the age of three. From early childhood, she frequently visited the Principality of Monaco with her family every summer. At the age of ten, she entered the Princesse Grace Dance Academy in Monte-Carlo, an experience that became a defining turning point in her life and set her on the path toward Monaco’s most prestigious stages.
Monaco has long held a distinguished place in the world of dance. The Princesse Grace Dance Academy, founded in 1975, was created in line with the wishes of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III to establish a world-class dance institution within the Principality. Under the direction of Marika Besobrasova, the Academy has earned an exceptional international reputation, shaping generations of remarkable performers.
EMOTIONS
In 2025, Ginevra was ready to take the next step in her artistic journey. She founded EMOTIONS, her own performance company, a space designed to nurture talented dancers, elevate creative possibilities, and deliver world-class entertainment worthy of the Principality of Monaco.
The company helps dancers grow together, both in skill and in opportunity, while offering event organisers high-level performances that reflect Monaco’s exceptional cultural standards.
Ginevra explains the heart behind the project:
“I created EMOTIONS because dance has been with me since I was three years old, when it was still just a game, a game that already made my eyes sparkle. As I grew up, dance became my passion, and eventually my profession.
Every time I step on stage, I feel the same magic I felt as a child, when performing was a true celebration. That’s when I realised dance was not simply a hobby: it was pure emotion, it was life.
EMOTIONS was born from exactly this desire to give back everything that dance has given me. It carries years of sacrifice, dreams, falls, and rebirths, but above all, emotions.
EMOTIONS is my way of saying thank you to dance.”
A vibrant and versatile performance company, EMOTIONS creates unique shows that blend classical, modern, and contemporary dance, as well as cabaret, folk traditions, singing and acrobatics.
Each performance is crafted to astonish, inspire, and captivate audiences of all ages, transforming the stage into an immersive experience.
Ginevra believes deeply in the power of artistic interpretation, everyone has their own stories in life and their own interpretation of music, ballet and theatre pieces. To put it simply, music and dance moves and inspires people.
“Since I was little, I have always been moved by theatre. Those are the emotions that I try to give back today to my audience during the shows.”
A memorable example of her artistic vision is her recent collaboration with the metal rock band Heart Attack. During the show, Ginevra performed classical ballet in a traditional tutu to rock and metal music. The unexpected fusion of two seemingly distant styles created an unforgettable experience for the audience. What started as a one-night experiment quickly led to a second performance, a clear sign that classical dance is evolving into new, contemporary forms.
“You cannot live on classical dance alone, even if it is the foundation of everything. Contemporary dance has enriched the world of dance by bringing it to a wider audience.”
EMOTIONS designs tailor-made shows, crafted with the same precision as a tailor crafts a couture dress.
“Each performance is designed to adapt to the context and the client’s needs, whether it’s for cultural events, sports events, corporate evenings, weddings or birthdays.
Thanks to years of study and skills across different disciplines, we can turn any request into a unique and captivating show,” - explains Ginevra.
What role do costume and stage design play in your performance?
“Costumes and scenography undoubtedly capture the audience, but they must be supported by strong technical preparation, musicality, and expression.”
The elegance and beauty of EMOTIONS’ performances roots in many years of commitment and hours of practice.
“A day of a professional dancer revolves around training, lots of stretching, hours of rehearsals, healthy eating, and then preparing for the shows.
It’s exhausting, but it never feels heavy; it actually fills my life in the best way possible.”
How do you prepare for a performance, both mentally and physically?
“On show days, my times are even more rigorous and precise. I wake up early, have an energising breakfast, prepare my costumes, my make-up, my shoes, and then that unique wait to go on stage begins.
A mix of anxiety, stress, and adrenaline with extraordinary energy and the desire to dance.”
How do you keep your performances fresh and engaging, even with repetitive shows?
“I am always looking for perfection; I am never truly satisfied. I always try to do better than I did before, and therefore, every performance, even if repetitive, is always new for me.
Above all, I dance with my heart, and the audience feels that they are attentive and excited during the show.”
EMOTIONS is unique because it is born from emotions, as Ginevra says “its name says it all: without emotions, life loses its meaning”.
“Every day we must allow ourselves to vibrate, to be surprised, and this philosophy guides every show we create: moments that remain in the audience’s hearts, memories to treasure, experiences to be lived intensely.
EMOTIONS is also a family: here, every dancer is a leader of herself, free to express talent, creativity and personality—with no competition, only mutual respect. We know the sacrifices this path requires, and we want to transform them into positive energy, collaboration and growth for everyone.”
