Diplomacy with Heart: Alessandro Giuliani’s Mission in Monaco
Alessandro Giuliani, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Monaco, embodies a powerful commitment to diplomacy, cultural exchange, and human values—an ethos reflected across his personal and public life.
Born near Milan, Alessandro Giuliani’s early passion lay in international affairs:
“Despite my strong passion for mathematics and architecture, the opportunity to collaborate and highlight the qualities and potential of the ‘sending’ Country and the ‘residence’ one, and vice-versa, has always encouraged me.”
Now fully rooted:
“I have known and frequented the Principality of Monaco since I was a child… Since 2009, I have been living there permanently… Monaco is my ‘heart’s country’, my home in all aspects.”

As Honorary Consul, Giuliani’s responsibilities span across diplomacy, law, and proactive cultural engagement:
“My main objectives… are to implement… those dictated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs… In exercising my consular functions, I follow the norms of international law… activities aimed at developing and deepening economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation… promoting the Polish economy, science and culture… I shall be obliged to act in favour of the development of friendly relations and cooperation…”
Diplomatic ties have strengthened over recent decades:
“Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Poland and the Principality of Monaco were established in 1990 and elevated to the embassies’ rank… Relations between Monaco and Poland have always been good. The fact that now we have a Polish Consulate accredited to the Principality is an excellent situation to increase, accelerate and improve relationships and trades between these two Countries.”
He highlights Poland’s economic momentum and its alignment with Monaco’s own ethos of global excellence:
“Poland is a country that has experienced an economic explosion… GDP growth has been very dynamic… sectors… like yachting, the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, banking and insurance, luxury tourism or new technologies.”
At the prestigious Annual Diplomatic Reception in Berlin—held at the iconic Waldorf Astoria—Alessandro Giuliani was among distinguished guests, including Monaco’s Ambassador to Germany, H.E. Lorenzo Ravano, and prominent Monaco residents.
Mr. Giuliani contributed a personal touch:
He “joined the participating guests” and brought “special herbal infusions, perfect for warming up during the coming winter in Berlin!”
This pairing of diplomatic engagement with thoughtful cultural gesture underscored Giuliani’s commitment to meaningful, human-centered diplomacy.

Giuliani’s approach blends cultural celebration with historical recognition:
“My only work experience in diplomacy was at the Italian Embassy… Monaco certainly facilitates… being a very organized, safe and efficient State.”
He draws on personal inspiration from Polish-Italian history, citing figures like Saint John Paul II and intricate artistic connections:
“Since always I have greatly appreciated Poland and Poles for their strength, their courage and their deep civic sense… The ‘Miracle of the Vistula’… Queen Bona Sforza… Saint John Paul II… Poland is known for its cities rich in history, culture and art… tourism in Poland is a wonderful adventure, not to be missed!”

Above all, Alessandro Giuliani stands for values anchored in humanity itself:
“The values I wish generally to convey are those of peace, tolerance and harmony; whatever the subjects and people involved. In conclusion… I adopt the greatest transparency in all my activities: what I look for is a moral greatness, not material.”
Alessandro Giuliani’s role as Honorary Consul is not a mere title, it is a beacon of cultural diplomacy, economic collaboration, and humanistic values. He bridges nations not just with policies, but with heartfelt integrity and transparent purpose.
