Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, Be Safe Monaco, and the Monaco Red Cross Unite for Safer Nights Out
On Monday, May 12, Stéphane Valeri, President-Delegate of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer (SBM), and Camille Gottlieb, President of Be Safe Monaco, gathered at Jimmy’z Monte-Carlo to renew their partnership ahead of the summer season. Since its creation in 2017, Be Safe Monaco has been offering free shuttle services to safely escort nightlife patrons home across Monaco and neighboring towns—particularly those unfit to drive.
The partnership, launched in April 2024 to reinforce Be Safe Monaco’s services during the high-traffic summer months, is further strengthened this year with an innovative initiative from the Monaco Red Cross.

Following the success of the initial collaboration, SBM is renewing its operational support to Be Safe Monaco for the 2025 summer season. From July 1 to August 31, 2025, two full-time SBM drivers will once again take the wheel of Be Safe Monaco’s shuttles, operating nightly from midnight to 5:00 a.m., seven days a week. Last summer, these two additional drivers helped safely escort 355 individuals home.
In return, Be Safe Monaco is extending its shuttle services to all nightlife venues under the SBM umbrella. The association covers insurance costs related to the drivers’ responsibilities and also leads awareness campaigns about the dangers of drunk driving, specifically targeted at SBM’s seasonal staff. To ensure smooth operation, an agent from BOSS Sécurité accompanies drivers on their rounds.

As part of the broader partnership and in collaboration with Be Safe Monaco, Yann Bertrand, General Director of the Monaco Red Cross, and Dominique Martet, Board Member in charge of Health and Prevention, donated 3,000 protective glass covers to SBM on May 12. These silicone covers, developed by the French company DrinkWatch, are designed to prevent drink spiking and accidental spills in nightclubs. Durable, adjustable, and reusable, they will be made available at SBM’s popular nightlife venues, including Jimmy’z Monte-Carlo, Amazónico Monte-Carlo, La Rascasse, Buddha-Bar Monte-Carlo, COYA Monte-Carlo, and Selva Monte-Carlo.
This renewed alliance between SBM, Be Safe Monaco, and the Monaco Red Cross represents a powerful commitment: to ensure that Monaco’s vibrant nightlife remains a joyful, safe, and serene experience for all.

The initiative also welcomed the involvement of Charlotte Marsan (Be Safe Monaco), Virginie Cotta (SBM Secretary General for CSR), venue directors, and the SBM Support Services Department, reinforcing a collective drive toward responsible nightlife in the Principality.
