Just 10 days before the diplomatic reception for the 75th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Between Monaco and Germany, H.S.H. Prince Albert II and members of the Princely Family – Princess Charlene, their twins Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, and Princess Stéphanie – officially inaugurated a spectacular new Monaco-themed area at Europa-Park in Rust, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The ceremony also welcomed prominent guests from German politics and entertainment, reflecting the importance of the occasion.

The Principality of Monaco now shines as Europa-Park’s 18th European-themed area, bringing the elegance, prestige and Mediterranean atmosphere of the Côte d’Azur to Germany’s largest and Europe’s most visited seasonal theme park.
Located around the iconic 73-metre-high Silver Star roller coaster, the new district invites visitors to immerse themselves in Monaco’s unique identity through its distinctive architecture, glamorous marinas, world-famous motorsport heritage and refined culinary culture.

The entire Silver Star complex was completely redesigned within just a few weeks, transforming the attraction into an authentic showcase of the Principality.
Visitors can stroll through recreations inspired by Monaco’s most recognisable landmarks, including the elegant facade of the Casino de Monte-Carlo, the celebrated Café de Paris, the Oceanographic Museum and the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo.

A virtual aquarium presents digitised imagery inspired by the Oceanographic Museum, while carefully selected Mediterranean vegetation, including agaves and cacti, recreates the Riviera landscape.
Racing enthusiasts can also experience Formula 1 through state-of-the-art driving simulators that allow guests to tackle the famous Monaco Grand Prix circuit themselves.
Adding even greater authenticity, the exhibition features historic racing cars from the personal collection of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, further celebrating Monaco’s unparalleled connection with international motorsport.

Speaking during the inauguration, H.S.H. Prince Albert II praised the remarkable attention to detail throughout the new attraction.
“I wonder whether some people might even say that the replica surpasses the original,” the Sovereign Prince remarked with a smile, adding that the new area perfectly captures the spirit of Monaco while preserving everything that has made Europa-Park so special for more than five decades. He also noted that walking through the new district made him “feel very much at home.”

Beyond Monaco’s internationally recognised glamour, the new area also highlights values that are central to the Principality today. Alongside major sporting events and architectural landmarks, visitors discover Monaco’s commitment to ocean conservation and environmental protection through references to the Oceanographic Museum and the Prince Albert II Foundation.
For Europa-Park owner Roland Mack, the project represents far more than a new attraction.
Describing the collaboration as “deeply personal,” Mack explained that it is founded on decades of friendship between the Mack family and the Princely Family, built upon shared values and a common belief that long-term relationships can create meaningful cultural bridges between nations. He also recalled the long-standing connection between Europa-Park and Monaco through the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo, a relationship that has continued to strengthen over many years.

That partnership had already delighted audiences during the 2025–2026 winter season with the acclaimed revue Monte-Carlo Circus Festival Meets Europa-Park, presented in close cooperation with the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo. The success of that production laid the foundation for an even broader collaboration, ultimately resulting in the creation of Monaco’s permanent home within Europa-Park.
The new themed area has already proven immensely popular. Although officially inaugurated in the presence of the Princely Family at the end of June, it has been welcoming visitors since the start of the 2026 season.

According to Roland Mack, more than two million guests had already experienced the Monaco area before its official opening ceremony, underlining the international appeal of both Europa-Park and the Principality itself.
The Monaco district stands not only as a celebration of one of Europe’s most iconic destinations, but also as a lasting symbol of the friendship between Monaco and Europa-Park. By bringing together culture, sport, entertainment and environmental awareness in one immersive experience, the attraction introduces millions of visitors each year to the unique spirit of the Principality while further strengthening Monaco’s international visibility.
