His arrival in the Principality was highly anticipated: Chef Cedric Grolet officially opened, on Wednesday July 30, the brand-new Cedric Grolet Monte-Carlo tea room and boutique, located in the heart of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, in partnership with Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer (SBM).

The palace’s completely transformed patio has now become a haven for all dessert lovers and fans of the Chef’s iconic trompe-l’oeil creations. Chef Grolet also becomes the Executive Pastry Chef of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo. This long-standing project was initiated by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and brought to life by the teams of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer in collaboration with the renowned pastry chef.

Many high pastry enthusiasts gathered this morning for the grand opening of Cedric Grolet Monte-Carlo at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo. This new venue, comprising a tea room and a boutique, enhances the already rich collection of over 30 restaurants and bars operated by Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. The collaboration between the chef, named “World’s Best Pastry Chef” by 50 Best in 2018, and the Monegasque hospitality group doesn’t stop there. On this occasion, Cedric Grolet also becomes the Executive Pastry Chef of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, creating desserts for all the hotel’s dining venues (excluding Le Louis XV-Alain Ducasse).

“We share with Chef Cedric Grolet the same spirit of excellence, creativity, and innovation, which we implement across all our sectors, including hospitality and fine dining. With his arrival, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer further strengthens its position as a leading gastronomic destination. With ten Michelin stars, our Resort – the most Michelin-starred in the world – continues to surprise and diversify its culinary offerings,” says Stéphane Valeri, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, on the occasion of this opening.

Supervised by Chef Vincent Puma, the Cedric Grolet Monte-Carlo tea room is open all day starting with breakfast, offering a delightful fruit-based, sweet, and savory selection. At lunchtime, guests can enjoy avocado toasts, Benedict croissants, and classic ham-butter baguettes. The traditional tea time offers a feast of the Chef’s signature fruit and floral creations in a cocktail-style format.

Next door, the boutique sells the Chef’s famous sculpted fruits and poached flowers, seasonal pastries, viennoiseries, cookies, and shareable cakes – all available to take away.

“The opening of this new venue at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo marks a major milestone for our Group. This exceptional space perfectly reflects our commitment to excellence, refinement, and tailor-made customer experiences – all values shared with Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer and the Principality,” adds Chef Cedric Grolet.

This beautiful 200m² indoor space, opening onto the patio of the Hôtel de Paris, was designed by the Chef himself, in collaboration with the Construction and Built Heritage Department of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, and coordinated with Groupe Cedric Grolet.
